  • Prior experience designing and developing smartphone apps

Scope of Service

  • Vendor must develop and design Smartphone application Smartphone Application for Substance Abuse Assistance Information and Resources in Nassau County
  • The Commissioner of Human Services .in coordination with the partner clients will provided information and resources garnered from nonprofits, for-profit, and advocacy groups regarding substance abuse assistance information and resources which must be accessible through the Substance Abuse App.
  • Content must include but not be limited to:
    • A comprehensive directory of substance abuse prevention, treatment, and recovery services
    • Links to the client's government resources
    • A zip code searchable guide that will display the location of the nearest treatment centers and hospitals, including GIS API with directions, maps and routing
    • A NARCAN training calendar
    • Support hotline telephone numbers
    • Links to state and federal websites
  • The app must be designed for the Android Operating System and the Apple operating system known as iOS.and available through app stores.
  • The app must have the ability to be updated for content every six months, or more frequently as the Commissioner of Human Services deems necessary; (who will update? Vendor or NC?)
  • The vendor must provide developer updates as well as patches known as "bug fixes".
  • The application should be developed in a way that the CONTENT is dynamic and easily maintainable/updateable by client's staff.
  • Any database/dynamic assets associated with the content/display of the application should reside on the county's infrastructure.
  • The source code (uncompiled) and all components and assets are to be handed over at the end of the development process for the County to publish the application
