Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess an expert-level understanding of PeopleSoft 9.1 and 9.2 a
subject matter expert on Payroll module, analyze business needs, develop technical
specifications, enhance/develop technical solutions, review and recommend best practices to
improve current implementations.
He/she will need a good knowledge of Time & Labor, Benefits, and Absence Management
modules to understand and recommend integration solutions with Payroll.
In addition, the ideal candidate must have the skillset necessary to complete the following tasks:
1. Good working knowledge of W2, State, Federal, Flsa reporting.
2. Ability to develop external/internal interfaces based on requirements.
3. Good understanding of Payroll processes, ability to resolve exceptions, different type of
errors generated during payroll processing.
4. Knowledge to review and resolve pre-confirm audit errors, develop payroll queries.
5. Ability to be a team player in the projects and communicate with functional team lead and the
project manager.
6. Debug and resolve issues quickly by applying best practice technical solutions.
7. Create benefit/payroll/time and labor queries to determine issues, develop and process
reports showcasing relevant data to help County Payroll business team.
8. Provide status reporting on processes to Comptroller Department Payroll Team Leader.
9. Analyze, prepare the system for PeopleSoft 9.1 to 9.2 upgrade for Payroll module, work with
upgrade team and report status.
Scope of Service
1. Understanding of project requirements. Development/enhancement of programs, pages,
reports, interfaces based on these requirements.
2. Strong background in software development and systems design, good coding practices,
technical documentation, strong knowledge of PeopleSoft HRS pertaining to design and
maintenance
3. Transactions processing experience involving pages, SQL queries and generation of
formatted reports.
4. Ability to work in a Technical team environment reporting to team lead. Ability to utilize
constructive feedback to ensure project specifications are completed within the allotted timeline
while meeting customer expectations.
5. Perform program evaluations and perform removal of unneeded customizations in the
application.
6. Understanding of established change control procedures.
7. Provide technical and application expertise in the assessment and resolution of operational
system incidents and technical issues. Interacts directly with customers to troubleshoot issues
and seek resolution. Collaborates with team members, DBAs, System Administrators,
Integrators, Network staff and product vendors as appropriate to coordinate, plan, solve
problems, etc.
8. Available as needed for batch processing support and system issues that occur during
normal duty hours and off duty hours as required.
9. Experience with patch management and rollback procedures.
10. Expert in PeopleSoft PeopleTools and related technologies such as: Application Designer,
PeopleCode, Workflow, Application Engine, Component Interface, File Layouts, SQR, Query,
Application Messaging, Application Packaging, Change Assistant, XML Publisher, Integration
Broker , SQL, PL/SQL, Unix shell scripting languages.
