Requirements

Duties:

• Review complaint documentation and Producer responses, evaluate the information provided to determine whether a violation of the Insurance Laws has occurred;
• Calculate fine if a violation has occurred and draft fine offer letters to Producer;
• Review Licensing referrals and investigate whether Insurance Law has been violated;
• Review investigatory responses; determine whether there is a violation and, if so, calculate fine and draft fine offer letters;
• Draft memo to Director of Producer Supervision and Enforcement Unit summarizing file;
• Work with Disciplinary Attorneys in connection with disciplinary hearings;
• Code files in accordance with established criteria;
• Correspond with licensees via phone, email and fax;
• Refer consumer complaints to the correct agency if DFS does not have jurisdiction;

Qualifications & Skills:

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Must have excellent writing and communication skills.
• A good understanding of New York State Insurance Law.
• Must have a Bachelor 's Degree.

Additional Information:

• This position will be remote to start and will revert to on-site once staff return to the office located at One Commerce Plaza, Albany NY.
• This is not a new position.
• Preference may be given to MWBE's.
