Estimated Length: 15 months Monday - Friday: 9 - 5 Requirements Duties: • Assist with the review of the technical specifications for the current database and for the database being developed • Provide technical support and problem solving to help internal and external users • Prepare and deliver basic training on accessing, entering data, and running reports • Answer questions or resolve computer problems for staff • Provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software • Assist in development of training programs and materials about use of data Skills required: • Advanced computer and software skills/knowledge including Microsoft Access and Excel • Excellent organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills Additional skill preferred: • Knowledge of public health programs Response to questions: Is there an incumbent in this role or is this position new or vacant? New Position How will interviews be conducted? Virtually Will the successful incumbent work onsite or telecommute? ? Telecommute, as long as there is an active NYSDOH telecommuting pilot in place. Currently we are approved to telecommute through 1/1/21. If telecommuting is allowed, will equipment be provided? No Could the successful incumbent possibly work nights and/or weekends? No Should candidates possess a post-secondary degree or IT certification? No What parking options are available at this location? Parking will be available for temp staff at a reduced rate in one of our offsite locations at a reduced rate where employees would take a free shuttle to the empire state plaza in the event we are required to return to the office. If the employee must report to the office for any other reason during the time we are telecommuting there are several visitor lots around the plaza that the employee may park in. These lots require a fee. The fee is $10/day before 11:00 am and $5 after 11:00 am.
