Description:

The client IT Security department is seeking a seasoned IT Professional to assist with Police and Security related projects.

This position will ensure that all systems and services installed and introduced into the client environment meet defined IT standards, comply with existing IT policies & follow industry best practices. 

The consultant will coordinate between various vendors, IT and Business groups as well as provide technical advice and guidance to stakeholders.  They will assist in identifying and mitigating risks and manage all related tasks to achieve the desired result.  The consultant will require hands on IT experience to assist with administering systems to meet IT requirements.

The candidate must reside in the New York Metropolitan Area and may be subject to a Police Background Investigation.  Onsite visits throughout the client Region is required. 

The interview will involve IT related technical questions which the candidate must successfully complete.

Requirements:

• Hands on expertise with Microsoft Server Operating Systems, Windows 10 & Active Directory as a System Administrator or Engineer type role.

• Experience working with network and security software and hardware such as routers, firewalls, VPN, SAN, AV and the associated protocols and concepts.

• Expertise in the assessment, design and system administration of business applications such as Public Safety, Police, Finance or similar technology is acceptable.

• A solid foundation in information technology, including the principles and practices of systems analysis, design, administration, maintenance and the functions of an IT Department.

• Strong analytical skills required to document requirements and relate such requirements to the appropriate design and configurations of the system.

• Extensive knowledge using Office 365 & Microsoft Office Suite including Teams, PowerPoint & Visio

• Understands project management methodologies and concepts.

• Ability to make decisions and provide solutions by inquiring, assessing, listening and evaluating data.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills is a must.

• Experience working with Physical Security or Police Technology including Card Access, Video Management, Video Analytics, Incident Management or equivalent is a plus.

Education and Experience: 

•             Minimum Bachelor's degree in IT related field

•             Minimum 7-9 years within an IT Department.

•             3 to 6 years of experience managing and administering critical business applications.

•             Police or Public Safety related IT experience is very helpful.
