Client has an immediate need to move UGOs from its existing platform to new servers, while ensuring it remains stable. The application is vital to the running of the Subway system. It is used on a 24X7 basis. The application must be moved to newer versions of Oracle and other software items.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design, code and test application software using .NET as the front-end development tool and Oracle DB as a back-end database; provide additional technical assistance with custom development and support activities as directed by the designated Client Project Manager. This includes knowledge transfer in the areas of .NET, Oracle SQL and PL-SQL programming and performance monitoring; assist Client staff with learning how to develop and implement .NET.
The candidate would be responsible for coding the user interface including data entry screens and operations screens for display, selection and creation of operational schedules derived from Client provided schedules, creation of planned and unplanned messages for use with the operation schedule(s) in chronological order or displayed immediately when an exception or emergency occurs; Create and test applications with Client staff for the various operating environments.


QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knows how to set up Oracle Application Server (OAS), to run Oracle Forms and Reports (OFR)
• Knows how to set up _development_ workstations / development environment for OAS / OFR.
• Knows how to migrate / has migrated an OFR6i system to OFR12c (or, any migration experience to OFR10g and beyond).
• Knows how to install / use / configure-for-users Oracle APEX (that lives / runs in Oracle 11g / 12c / beyond).
• Knows the layers involved in delivering Oracle products.
• Person should also understand the machinations of sending email from within an Oracle DB (e.g., setting up ACL lists).
• Should have a working-knowledge of PL/SQL and SQL – but this can be taught / learned – should be open to learning.

Additional Skills and Information:

a. Knowledge of Oracle Application Server (OAS), Oracle Forms & Reports
b. Knowledge on how to migrate an Oracle forms & Reports 6i to 12c (OFR6i to OFR12c)
c. Knowledge of the layers involved in delivering Oracle products

This consultant will migrate the application to a more current version of Oracle as the current version in use is unsupported. This consultant will assist setting up 3 or 4 environments (servers and associated software). The environments include test, QA, production and preferably one for load-balancing.
