JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

CASE MANAGER – The Case Manager will provide a full range of on-site, person-centered, strengths-based services to a caseload of approximately 20-25 families. The case manager will complete an in-depth assessment to determine the family's needs. The case manager will assist families with securing financial benefits and other services necessary to support the family in achieving permanent housing. • Case managers must have experience in social work and child welfare since they will be working with families. • Case managers must have knowledge of local and national child welfare laws and regulations. • High communications skills are preferred. • Case managers must have a sense of cultural competency and sensitivity, as they will be working with the homeless population and migrant residents. • Case managers must have strong collaboration skills as they will be working with other professionals to provide comprehensive care to residents.
HOUSING SPECIALIST – The Housing Specialist will conduct a housing assessment to determine the family’s readiness for housing, assist the family in completing the housing and rental subsidy program application, and escort clients to view apartments or meet with brokers and landlords. The Housing Specialist will maintain detailed housing notes in the case file.
• Prior experience in housing services, social work, real estate, or a related field is preferred.
• Housing Specialist must have knowledge of Housing Programs, such as Section 8 vouchers, and CityFHEPS.
• Housing Specialists must have a sense of cultural competency and sensitivity, as they will be working with the homeless population and migrant residents.
INTAKE WORKER – Receive and greet families when they arrive. Collect all identifying information for each member of the family. Provide the families with the rules and regulations of the program. Provides conflict intervention during family disputes, prepares incident reports, conducts room inspections, and collects signatures for 10 p.m. curfew checks.
• Strong communication skills preferred.
• Intake workers must have a sense of cultural competency and sensitivity, as they will be working with the homeless population and migrant residents.
• Strong ability to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively.
• Intake workers must maintain confidentiality of client’s privileged information.
• Strong ability to handle paperwork, maintain records.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for data entry preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills preferred.
RESIDENCE WORKER - To provide crisis intervention and maintain the safety of the program’s clients and staff during their shifts. Conduct periodic facility walk-throughs. Consistently provide excellent customer service and confidentiality. Distribute meals to program clients and help unpack and safely store meals delivered to the site. Perform light custodial work consisting of cleaning tables, chairs, minor spills, and removal of trash.
• Strong communication skills preferred.
• Residence workers must have a sense of cultural competency and sensitivity, as they will be working with the homeless population and migrant residents.
• Strong ability to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively.
• Residence workers must maintain confidentiality of client’s privileged information.
• Strong ability to handle paperwork, maintain records.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for data entry preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills preferred.
