Estimated Length: 3 months Wed-Thu/8 a.m.- 5 p.m.

Requirements

Answering phones and triaging calls received by the Workers' Compensation Team from injured workers', health care providers, law offices, or the New York State Workers' Compensation Board.

Scanning & securely transmitting medical bills and medical records to a vendor and/or in house examiner, matching bills to EORs, paying bills, and sending mail, as needed.  

Record keeping for OSHA reportable incidents

Prepare denial letters/ state forms to health care providers for medical bills; fee schedule, denied, or medical bills lacking medical reports.

Filing and organizing storage rooms. Boxing, cataloging, and packing files to be sent off to storage

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Strong attention to detail and the ability to research and resolve problems
Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel; ability to effectively use computer applications and office technology to produce, revise, catalog, and disseminate professional materials
Maintain control of sensitive information and confidential department activity

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
