Estimated Length: 5 months M-F/8 a.m. to 12 p.m part-time Requirements These part-time temporary positions are necessary to remove a very large volume of negative hepatitis B, hepatitis C and syphilis laboratory results from the Client Communicable Disease Electronic Surveillance System (CDESS) that are being reported by laboratories following New York City’s updated reporting requirements. Although New York City’s reporting requirement only applies to New York City residents, laboratories are unable to differentiate New York City residents from residents outside of New York City, and so report all results for any New York State resident. This position requires comfort learning and understanding medical and laboratory terminology related to hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and syphilis as well as an ability to carry out tasks within a large data system containing highly confidential health information. Utilize knowledge of medical terminology to identify negative hepatitis B, negative hepatitis C, and negative syphilis laboratory results reported to surveillance system and classify them according to instructions. Perform data entry to update patient information according to instructions. Position would be located in Albany. Telecommuting is not available.
