Estimated Length: 6-9 months M-F; 9am - 5pm Requirements Statistical Assistant: The Client is looking for a statistical assistant. The duration of the assignment is 6 months to 9 months with the possibility of an extension. Job Description: Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to: Compiling and computing data according to statistical formulas for use in statistical analysis and reporting Clean and aggregate data for computation Ensure accuracy of data by performing and documenting quality checks in accordance with specifications. Compile charts and graphs Work closely with principal economist on performing initial calculations to be incorporated into reporting Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: A Bachelors degree in economics, finance, statistics, mathematics or other quantitative degree is preferred 3+ years of experience as a statistical analyst Comfort and skill using computer software packages such as Excel Experience with pivot tables and performing complex calculations in excel Hands-on experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, STATA) is preferred but not required Excellent communication skills Ability to convey technical concepts to a lay audience Ability to solve problems creatively Ability to work autonomously and as part of cross-functional teams Ability to multi-task across projects
