Requirements

We need an individual who can provide development and maintenance for some of our Access-based applications and projects. We need someone with MS-Access solid experience. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with strong communication skills. This person will have the ability to work remotely and be flexible to provide support to existing systems.

• Understand existing implementations and able to identify opportunities to address existing implementations
• Act as a subject matter expert to support existing Access applications and address any reported issues.
• The candidate should have experience upgrading MSA DBs to SQL Server DBs.
• Experience porting MS-Access applications (MSA) to MS-Power Apps is a huge plus.
• Complete database and forms creation – create MS Access databases and access forms from scratch
• Modify database – transform MS Access databases as per specs/requirements
• Transform Excel programs to Access databases
• Upgrade MS Access DBs to more recent versions of Access
• Reports - Create/modify
• Forms - Create/modify
• Queries - Create/modify
• Tables – Create/modify
• VBA – Coding
• Quality control testing
• Work with Sr Programmers and the rest of the team on large projects.
• Speak with/email clients to understand their needs
• Respond to comments from clients, as well as update Requirements
• The candidate will need to have strong investigative and analytical skills and be willing to perform such work. Create manuals and other required support documents

Must have:

• Two to three years of MS-Access database and forms experience
• Able to communicate efficiently and successfully in English, both verbally and in writing
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently (remotely) while managing your own time and providing time estimates and status updates.
• Comfort and ease when dealing with clients
• Be able to adapt and quickly develop an understanding of new/different applications

Nice to have (but not required)

• SQL server experience
• Experience with other database programs
• Past jobs with similar and related skills: DBA, administrator, software engineer, architect, business analysis
