*THIS POSITION WILL ALLOW CONSULTANT TO WORK REMOTELY, HOWEVER, THEY MUST BE RELIABLY AVAILABLE TO COME ONSITE AS NEEDED (1x/MONTH AT A MINIMUM) BY THEIR MANAGER (AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE).
We are the largest public transportation agency in North America, and we are undergoing a significant I.T. agile transformation. The UX Research practice will support this effort and provide a data-driven approach to designing elegant websites and apps that are easy to use. We are looking for an experienced UX Researcher with a passion for human-computer interaction to join our team. The UX Researcher will work directly with the enterprise web and mobile applications teams responsible for creating digital platforms that interface with over 5 million unique daily users.
Responsibilities:
• Facilitate research expeditions and research workshops across various digital products and platforms.
• Configure tools to capture and analyze end-user behavioral data such as user flow maps, heat maps, and session recordings.
• Use an objective approach to creating experiments across user personas, profiles, and large group stratified segments.
• Test hypotheses using user tests focused on analyzing heuristics, feedback surveys, A/B experiments, and a wide range of UX research approaches.
• Aggregate and synthesize qualitative/quantitative data from large population data sets to identify patterns in user behavior.
• Create computational and statistical algorithms for large data sets.
• Partner with stakeholders from different lines of business to gather and analyze data to understand challenges and end-user pain points.
• Present research findings and insights to various levels of audiences (Executive Leadership to development team members).
• Convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Education and Experience:
• A Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Systems Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Science, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, or another related field is required.
• 5+ Experience as an individual contributor responsible for quantitative and qualitative research is required.
• Track record of conducting research in environments containing products at various maturity horizons (evaluating, emerging, investing, extracting, retiring).
• Strong organizational, communication and presentation skills are required.
• Proven Experience facilitating card sorting, affinity mapping, ethnographic studies, mind mapping exercises, and other exercises are required.
• Extensive Experience using statistical tools to clean and organize data.
• Proficiency using tools that require inputs in R and Python is required; bonus if you're proficient in C++.
• Experience using machine learning algorithms (process and association mining, clustering, and regression) is highly desired.
