Requirements

The Client, Pharmacy Benefits Bureau (“Department”) is seeking a public information officer to provide high level administration of a public outreach program in furtherance of the Department’s efforts in regulating Pharmacy Benefit Managers (“PBM”) operating in New York. Under the supervision of the Deputy Superintendent of Pharmacy Benefits, the public information officer will:

- Serve as point person for the Pharmacy Benefits Bureau in its public outreach efforts.
- Coordinating with website team on release of new guidance or requests for information published by the bureau.
- Organizing hearings/round tables/press releases in both in person and virtual mediums
- Gathering responses to public comment periods, evaluating major issues and briefing bureau leadership on public input.
- Lead coordination of meetings with interested parties on specific rule-making activities
- Create first draft press releases and work with Department press shop on press releases
- Monitor press for issues relevant to the bureau’s work and provide written briefings to bureau leadership on major trends.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Deputy Superintendent for Pharmacy Benefits.
 
Preferred Experience:

- One year of experience in a similar role
- Experience working in Government
