*PLEASE NOTE THIS POSITION WILL ALLOW CONSULTANT TO WORK ON A HYBRID REMOTE SCHEDULE (3 DAYS ONSITE/ 2 DAYS REMOTE) UPON START.
This position falls within the IT Product Management Division of the Client Headquarters Information Technology Department. The Client IT Product Development Division is responsible for executing the portfolio of IT initiatives and projects by applying an enterprise-wide approach to best practice project management standards and methodologies. The selected candidate will serve as an onsite Business Analyst to perform business and system analysis; develop specifications and necessary documentation in compliance with Client standards and procedures and to assist in testing systems to deliver technology solutions to the Client business users.
The position will report directly to the IT Product Manager for New Fare Payment System (NFPS). The BA will serve as an essential analyst and contributor to the NFPS Initiative focused on developing a Data Warehouse/Data Lake for reporting purposes. The role requires significant interaction with cross-functional departments within the organization and excellent communication and relationship management skills.
Experience should include a solid background in project documentation, requirements gathering, report analysis, working with technical resources/vendors during the design, development, testing, and implementation phases of the project to ensure business needs are being satisfied. In addition, applicant needs to be familiar in database design and administration. Preferably by virtue of experience on similar projects. Experience with Agile project management methodologies are desirable.
Work Location will be in Manhattan; partial remote work may be available. Work schedule can be a hybrid of in-person and teleworking based on Product Manager’s guidance, clients’ needs, and consultant’s performance.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Assist the Product Development Division with overall Business and System Analysis for technology related initiatives.
a. Perform analysis of business processes, business and system requirements and system design for the development and configuration of software applications that support Client business requirements
b. Employ structured modeling techniques and tools to describe new business functions, processes, information, and technology designs
c. Define, design and author project business, functional and technical requirements
d. Provides references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation and providing help desk knowledge-based support documentation
e. Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
f. Develop and maintain technical and standard documentation for program development activity in a timely and high-quality manner
g. Maintains system protocols by writing and updating procedures
h. Develop and maintain of system and functional test plans that adequately test the defined requirements and functions
i. Document As-Is and To-Be process flows for existing and future systems
j. Coordinate and facilitate meetings such as business process reviews, requirements, and various status reports
2. Adhere to a Standard Project Development Lifecycle approach
k. Develop and support critical project documentation throughout the project lifecycle, from Initiation and Requirements stages through Design, Development, Test, Implementation and Closeout. This includes but is not limited to As-Is and To-Be process flows, Requirements Documentation, Test Plans, Implementation Plan, User Manuals, Training Materials, Transition Documentation, etc.
l. Support integration testing, UAT, and implementation cutover testing
m. Experienced with supporting the retirement of legacy applications.

CONSULTANT QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience in Business Analyst role
• Detailed understanding of, and experience with, all ITIL processes
• Knowledgeable in the language of database design and administration.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Project version 2003 and higher
• Proficiency with Microsoft Visio for flow charts/process flows version 2003 and higher
• Excellent inter-personal skills including the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Assist as needed in related activities or tasks deemed necessary by Client management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute in a high-pressure environment.
• Ability to independently set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, a self-starter
