Estimated Length: Five (5) months (ASAP through May 31, 2023)

The position offers some opportunity for remote work and flexible hours. Ideally, the position will be full time 37.5 hours per week; however, hours less than full time may be considered, depending on candidate qualifications and experience. Candidates should expect to work on site at least 50% of the time. Weekday schedule to be negotiated with the candidate selected. No overtime hours are anticipated for this position.

Requirements

The temporary full-time Senior Accountant position is an interim position reporting to the Vice
President of Finance and Administration which supports a variety of campus financial and
compliance needs.
It oversees day-to-day Geneseo Foundation finances, as well as financial statement preparation and is directly responsible for accurate preparation of pledges receivable, gain/loss, spending and other journal entries, audits and other compliance work as needed. In addition, backfilling for some of the duties and responsibilities of the college's controller with support from other college staff members, the position has responsibilities that support campus finance, internal control, and auditing needs. It also supports collaboration on best practices and advising campus community members on a broad range of risk and compliance matters, and serves as the campus internal control officer. The position also often participates in campus planning and regularly works on risk management activities in collaboration with colleagues from across campus, and serves as a collaborator with other external parties as needed, including Client legal counsel.

Candidate Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred, but not
required. Candidates should have at least five (5) years of related experience at minimum.
